I pray you are doing well, I wanted to check in with our clients and share some encouragement during the Corona mayhem. I pray you are keeping safe and taking the time to enjoy yourself with your family.
See 5 things you can do during Covid-19 as an author to grow your platform:
- Do a Kindle sale— Promoting these books may have not been at the forefront since the initial launch, I would like to think that this is a great time to start building traction again. You can do a sale; everyone loves a great sale especially if it’s entertaining. A sale price can range as low as $0.99-$3.99. During the sale you can obtain potential customer for the next big hit you will have out.
- 2. Launch a Course, Challenge or Coaching program —The life changing topics you shared in your book are powerful and life-transforming. Why not impact your audience to another level by offering them a personal experience? Host a challenge, create a course or launch a coaching program around your book. This is also a great way to create an extra income (and who doesn’t want that at this time right?). and possible educate persons on what your understanding of your book is.
- Invest in your personal development— Now is the perfect time to learn a new skill (or two). As I’ve been saying, this is not a “stop” season… it is a “slow down” season. Since we are forced to slow down, take the opportunity to do some professional or business development courses. Read some blogs on something you’re struggling with (e.g. social media, writing, sales, marketing etc.).
- Start building an email list — Listen, Social Media is great but the platform doesn’t belong to you. If you’re truly vested in your gift of writing and leading and believe God desires you to really impact lives… you need to be connecting with people. The best way to connect with others is digitally, start with Email.

- Give away the book for free in exchange for book reviews— Amazon book reviews are super important to book marketing. It is a great way to draw new readers who are searching for your book. So, make the book free for even 24 hours on Kindle then send it to specific folks and ask them to leave a 5-Star review. You can eventually share these reviews on your Facebook or Instagram after.
Hope you find these tips useful. If you plan to implement any of these, reply and let me know which one you’ll be doing to grow your platform.
